Will Ilhan Omar come to Ben Shapiro’s defense now that Shapiro’s been targeted with death threats?

More from TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us, Shapiro, who frequently appears on cable news shows and has a hugely popular podcast, filed a police report with the LAPD. We’re told the threats were not just against Shapiro but his family as well.  He’s married with one daughter.

We’re told the Department got in touch with the FBI and created a joint task force to hunt down the culprit.

Our sources say a man was arrested Wednesday in Washington State for making the threats.

We’re told these threats were “extremely serious” … not just someone blowing off steam.

This is scary stuff. Thank goodness the man was found and Shapiro and his family are safe.

Thanks to local and federal law enforcement for their quick and hard work here. Stay safe out there, everyone! https://t.co/XHR4wpDo5c

No kidding.

Hey Mr. Shapiro, no one should get death threats for opinions. Take care of yourself!

Praying for your safety and that of your family. ??

For what it’s worth, now that everything seems to be OK, Shapiro’s free to have a little laugh at his own expense:

That TMZ photo with me in the Twins cap is slightly humiliating, however. #whitesox forever!

(For the record, I own all of the MLB hats, and I switch them out when I travel.)

Good to know.

Update:

Something else worth noting:

This report mentions at the end that Shapiro "created a stink" when he made comments about Omar. Is there a reason for that non sequitur? Also, I look forward to a hearty discussion about incitement. *crickets* https://t.co/2Mk1v39ZKh

I wonder if TMZ is suggesting Shapiro incited this against himself. ?
