Jussie Smollett and his team probably don’t want this stuff out there. Too bad the Chicago Police Department doesn’t care:
EXCLUSIVE: Complete @Chicago_Police investigative file of @jussiesmollett case is now posted. Please credit @CWBChicago for our work.

There’s some juicy stuff in here. One might even call it … hot:
HUGE SCOOP:
Osundairo brother told @Chicago_Police that he put bleach into an El Yucateco hot sauce bottle and poured it on @JussieSmollett. NYPost reporter later found bottle at the scene.

So there really was a hot sauce bottle of bleach.https://t.co/dZpXz8nFit pic.twitter.com/cCUk3Rpitd

Oh man.
Both files show a request to "reclassify" the Jussie Smollett incident from "aggravated battery" to a peace violation (false report), based on indications as early as January 31(?). Also note, FBI was involved and requested results of a CPD search executed on Smollett's iCloud. https://t.co/DZvL4qK7Ea

As a former ADA myself, I was dumbfounded that prosecutors thought they could move forward with this scheme without the police department's consent. They had to know this was going to happen.

Siri, show me what it's like when a city police department is PISSED at the local DA…. https://t.co/Je22tyz4PP

Looks like we’re in for quite a show.
Folks, we got ourselves a leak war. https://t.co/LTeU4mUFsh

actually it was FOIAed
— Jeryl Bier (@JerylBier) March 27, 2019
To be clear, this was obtained by FOIA not a leak.
But I suspect we'll be getting more leaks soon. https://t.co/ZPgRsJHoOA

It was FOIA'ed a while ago. 🙂 The leak war is YET TO COME.

Pop that popcorn and find a comfy chair … it’s about to get lit up in here.

Update:
Well, whaddaya know?
Breaking on #JussieSmollett case: @AJGuglielmi says @Chicago_Police now barred from releasing additional Smollett records b/c of new court order. This keeps getting more strange. #SmollettShocker @JussieSmollett
— Josh Margolin (@JoshMargolin) March 27, 2019
Keeps getting more bizarre: @AJGuglielmi says the gag order keeps secret an investigative file that’s about 8 inches thick and bars @Chicago_Police from discussing the investigation. https://t.co/yjSjZIMXEK
— Josh Margolin (@JoshMargolin) March 27, 2019
The Jussie Smollett files received this morning will be the last ones, apparently. Yesterday's order to seal docs was read as not applying to CPD or the City of Chicago. An updated order has been filed sealing ALL documents related to the investigation. Shady.

Think Chicago PD will just go quietly?
I have a feeling that somehow, some more stuff may get released. https://t.co/B2ZQhprihZ
