Listen up, climate-denying rubes. Your friendly neighborhood smarter-than-you, woke AF expert on conservatism has got a bone to pick with you ignorant science-challenged hicks:
Why can’t conservatives admit the obvious threat of climate change as I have? They are captives of the fossil fuel industry and of their own rigid ideology. It is a tragedy for the entire planet that the GOP is impervious to science and reason. My latest: https://t.co/3sifRU60SS
— Max Boot (@MaxBoot) November 26, 2018
If you’re looking for a quality elitist scolding from Max Boot, you won’t be disappointed:
I admit it. I used to be a climate-change skeptic. I was one of those conservatives who thought that the science was inconclusive, that fears of global warming were as overblown as fears of a new ice age in the 1970s, that climate change was natural and cyclical, and that there was no need to incur any economic costs to deal with this speculative threat. I no longer think any of that, because the scientific consensus is so clear and convincing.
…
I’ve owned up to the danger. Why haven’t other conservatives? They are captives, first and foremost, of the fossil fuel industry, which outspent green groups by 10 to 1 in lobbying on climate change from 2000 to 2016. But they are also captives of their own rigid ideology. It is a tragedy for the entire planet that America’s governing party is impervious to science and reason.
First of all, what’s all this “other conservatives” business? Because Boot hasn’t been “conservative” for a while now. And second of all, who the hell does he think he is? Other than a spluttering fraud suffering from an acute case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

We didn’t think it was possible, but Max Boot is on the fast track to out-Jennifer-Rubining Jennifer Rubin.

1) You’re not a conservative.
2) Climate change is real but how much is caused by humans is the question and it’s as yet unanswered.
3) So far all the solutions are much much worse than the problem.
4) The U.S. has worked to eliminate pollution. China, India, Russia have not. https://t.co/MkOFFCGipz— Some chick named Heather (@hboulware) November 26, 2018
I am more than willing to admit the risk of climate change. What I'm not willing to admit is that there's some magical government solution that will fix it or that a carbon tax is a viable way to approach it

"Why can’t conservatives admit the obvious threat of climate change as I have?" Possibly because the "threat" is unproven, exaggerated and overblown, and most of the "solutions" tend to be statist, socialist and totalitarian.

Climate alarmism "science" is anti-science. It turns the scientific method on its head, starting with a conclusion and finding evidence to confirm it.
And reason in the scientific realm demands strict adherence to a skeptical mindset. I'm sorry this is too difficult for you.

Own it, Max Boot and climate change alarmists. For once in your damn lives, own it.
