'Complete BS'! MSNBC's Kasie Hunt actually tried to blame Trump-era tax cuts for this?

The national debt has climbed to more than $20 trillion. And that’s absolutely appalling:

The @WSJ reminds us of our ignored fiscal responsibilities this a.m.: Interest payments alone on the $20t+ national debt –that NEITHER party seems to care abt anymore — will eclipse annual Medicaid costs by 2020 & surpass military spending by 2023 https://t.co/BVsYgq9qgD

But before you go pointing fingers, NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host Kasie Hunt would like to remind you what got us to this point:

Consequences of tax cuts, mostly for big business —> https://t.co/JEZkEvtdRd

— Kasie Hunt (@kasie) November 12, 2018

Is that so, Kasie?

Um, no.

How did the federal debt double from 2009 to 2016? https://t.co/SlO2QptPwO

— Jay Caruso (@JayCaruso) November 12, 2018

Roughly half our national debt accumulated under Obama. This had many causes, most notably the Great Recession, but tax cuts for big business was definitely not what drove it. https://t.co/clZg2f80JJ

Nice try, though, Kasie.

Laughable that mainstream reporters ignored the debt for years under Obama but now want to dunk on Trump. Saying the debt expanded under Trump = accurate. Saying the debt is largely from tax cuts = absolutely laughable and typical partisan garbage.

In truth, consequences of out of control, run away spending, and fiscal irresponsibility, for decades, by both parties, this didn't just happen in 18 months.

You spelled "Consequences of runaway spending through both parties" wrong….

Just an honest mistake, we’re sure.

Complete BS…

Find other less important issues to mislead people about with partisan talking points, or if you don't understand these complex issues, defer to those who do.
