'AYFKM?' NY Mag gets ratio'd hard for this spin on Ted Cruz being harassed out of DC restaurant

As Twitchy told you, over the weekend, GOP Sen. Ted Cruz and his wife Heidi were driven from a D.C. Italian restaurant by leftist protesters.

And here’s how New York Magazine covered it:

Senator Ted Cruz, it seems, is hiding out in ritzy Capitol Hill restaurants where the tasting menu starts at $115 https://t.co/kfV24TKs4r

— New York Magazine (@NYMag) September 25, 2018

“Hiding out.”

That ratio’s really cookin’.

"hiding out"

— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) September 25, 2018

Hiding out? You mean having dinner?

— Steven Baleshiski (@SBaleshiski) September 25, 2018

"Hiding out" at a public restaurant

— Tyler Voigt (@TylerVoigt1) September 25, 2018

Hiding in a public place. Makes sense.

— Chili Piper (@KSGator15) September 25, 2018

Could you explain this theory of Cruz "hiding out" by dining in public?

— Brad Slager – The Handmaid's Male? ??? (@MartiniShark) September 25, 2018

Hiding out in plain sight? This is some stellar reporting.

“Hiding out” in a public restaurant.

Journalism is dying.

— Ben Jammin ?? (@xBenJamminx) September 25, 2018

Some might argue it’s already dead.

That's a really weird way to describe harassment.

— MMC (@Mattcolvinshow) September 25, 2018

It sure is. Unless you’re trying to downplay it because Ted Cruz happens to be a Republican. Then it makes perfect sense.

Do Senate Democrats eat at McDonald’s?

— Cameron Gray (@Cameron_Gray) September 25, 2018

Senate Democrats get treated like rockstars in the most expensive restaurants in this city. Never seen a hit piece on any of them.

— Lyndsey Fifield (@lyndseyfifield) September 25, 2018

“Hiding out”

Anyone can eat there, wait until they find out how much their commie queen’s shoes cost https://t.co/BBMdl1sml6

— Mujahed (@kebejay) September 25, 2018

This is not journalism. This is class warfare, plain and simple.

— Eat It, Miami (@EatItMiami) September 25, 2018

NY Mag has an entire part of their site devoted to reviews of expensive New York restaurants. I guess you're not supposed to patronize them lest you get called out by…NY Mag. At least if they have a problem with you politically. They may even accuse you of "hiding out."

If only Ted Cruz had a (D) after his name …

@NYMag Be better than this.

— Treye Johnson (@GeneralNeyland) September 25, 2018

Too late for that.
