FLASHBACK: Hey, Rachel Maddow and Brian Stelter, remember when the WH deceptively edited THIS video?

After Rachel Maddow and Brian Stelter fell all over themselves with outrage over the White House deceptively editing footage of Donald Trump’s joint presser with Vladimir Putin last week — an allegation that has been debunked — now seems like a pretty good time to take a look bad at an actual instance of White House deception (one of many):

Remember when this happened?

The editing of a State Department briefing video to splice out a question and answer pertaining to the importance of secrecy in diplomatic negotiations with Iran represents a “stunning case of poor judgment,” former agency spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Friday.

“Whether that is incompetence or lack of experience or both, I don’t know the answer to that,” the current White House communications director told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer when asked if she has gone back to look and see who instructed the removal of the clip from the department’s YouTube video. (The video and transcript remained intact and publicly available through other means.)

Psaki reiterated that she had no involvement or knowledge of the editing and would never have approved of it, echoing a tweet she posted Wednesday after the department admitted that it had deliberately edited out a question from Fox News reporter James Rosen to Psaki during the Dec. 2, 2013, briefing.

The Obama administration deceived and screwed over the media on a repeat basis, yet many journalists crying foul over Trump’s disparaging attitude remarks about the media still look back fondly on the Obama era. Well, many, but not all:

Sadly, Tapper’s the exception rather than the rule.

Yep:

Guess they were too busy running into burning buildings to cover that story.
