.@AriMelber And the best place to do this is of course a eulogy.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) June 26, 2015
Naturally!
President Obama was in Charleston today to eulogize Rev. Clementa Pinckney, one of the nine people slain in the Charleston massacre. Well, that’s what he was ostensibly there for. It didn’t take long for the occasion to change direction:
You guys, Obama is going for it right now. Not holding back at all on race, guns, love, God. http://t.co/Z5dhRSdWqv pic.twitter.com/9Z8aO1oGOg

"None of us should expect a transformation of race relations overnight," says the Pres. "There’s no shortcut. We don’t need more talk."
— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) June 26, 2015
And yet, more talk is exactly what he’s giving us. For he cannot resist the siren song of his own voice.
.@POTUS: "As a nation, out of this terrible tragedy God has visited grace upon us. For he has allowed us to see where we’ve been blind."
— Mike Memoli (@mikememoli) June 26, 2015
Obama: "By taking down that flag, we expressed God’s grace, but I don’t think God wants us to stop there"
— Zeke Miller (@ZekeJMiller) June 26, 2015
But don’t worry. He knows what God wants: gun control.
Obama: "For too long we've been blind to the unique mayhem that gun violence inflicts on this nation..Sporadically our eyes are open"
— Michelle Boorstein (@mboorstein) June 26, 2015
"The vast majority of Americans, the majority of gun owners, want to do something about this." —@POTUS on reducing gun violence
— White House Archived (@ObamaWhiteHouse) June 26, 2015
“The majority of gun owners want to do something about this,” Obama says. “We see that now"
— Charlie Spiering (@charliespiering) June 26, 2015
You know what we see? We see a man whose messiah complex is so strong, that he’s found a way to turn a funeral into a pander-fest.
I thought this was a eulogy.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) June 26, 2015
Eulogy = A speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died.
— ?SúperStabby? (@SuperAndrea) June 26, 2015
Yeah, that’s definitely not what we saw today.
As I figured he would, Obama turned a eulogy into a gun control pitch. Stay classy, dude.
— Eric H. (@ericinva) June 26, 2015
So @POTUS, instead of celebrating the life of a great man, Pastor #ClementaPinckney, decides to promote an agenda. https://t.co/bitWH3Oh88
— Princess Consuela Banana-Hammock aka Kimberly (@conkc2) June 26, 2015
Just as predicted Obama went right to race and gun-control! Now he's using a bit of Alinsky tactics. He talks of grace but knows not of it.
— Ricky Kirk (@rickykirk) June 26, 2015
Obama is supposed to be giving a eulogy at a man's funeral, yet he's using the podium to talk about the confederate flag and gun control?
— Clark (@Clark_Dubya) June 26, 2015
Oh, is Obama veering into gun control during this eulogy? That's classy.
— RBe (@RBPundit) June 26, 2015
Translation: Narcissist uses funeral to push craven and destructive political agenda. https://t.co/VAKbWAjfSg
— Bob Owens (@bob_owens) June 26, 2015
Call me old fashioned, but I thought people gave eulogies to remember and celebrate the deceased. https://t.co/V8DiHFuq35

How disrespectful is it to turn a eulogy into a political speech?
— BT (@back_ttys) June 26, 2015
Par for President Putt-Putt’s course.

Couldn't bear to listen much but am gratified to know that true to his nature he politicized a eulogy https://t.co/YQRjQPJ3yL
— Sissy Willis (@SissyWillis) June 26, 2015
@redsteeze @AmandaWills Obama really feels the need to be the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral.
Literally.
— MyIQ2xu™ (@realmyiq2xu2) June 26, 2015
When Deray couldn't get the job done they had to call in the big guns. Heckuva job, @POTUS.
— BT (@back_ttys) June 26, 2015
Despicable
