'Not what he said, lying hack': ThinkProgress editor twists RNC chair's words [video]

The truth is out there. Just don’t expect ThinkProgress to pay any attention to it.

Here’s managing editor Igor Volsky’s take on RNC chair Reince Priebus’ appearance on today’s “Daily Rundown”:

Wow. Sounds like Priebus really stepped in it, huh? If you take those tweets at face value, that’s probably what you’d believe.

You bet wisely.

Maybe it’ll make more sense if Volsky explains:

Appearing on MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown on Tuesday, Reince Priebus reiterated the GOP’s support for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman, before arguing that social conservatives like David Lane and Tony Perkins are “right to be concerned about what’s happened here in this country over the last couple of years.” Preibus also seemed to support Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) push to introduce a constitutional amendment prohibiting the federal government from changing state marriage laws.

“I don’t think [marriage equality] is a top here issue for the midterms,” he said. “I think long term it’s an issue in regard to what we need to do in the country to have a strong economy, a strong defense and a strong society.” [Emphasis is Twitchy’s.]

Sorry, but where’s the part where Priebus said that same-sex marriage “is a threat to our economy and national security”? Because it sounds to us like he’s just saying that maybe gay marriage isn’t the most pressing issue we’re facing at the moment.
