Earlier today, President Obama spoke to the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Summit, where he said something that really struck a chord with Melinda Gates:
Couldn't agree more: "If you educate and empower and respect a mother, then you are educating the children." — President Obama #YALI2014

Yeah … about that:
.@melindagates Empower & respect moms? Yeah, tell it to mom-basher Arne Duncan! #stopcommoncore #wewillnotconform ==> http://t.co/VtvghSeeeh

Last year, Education Secretary Arne Duncan asserted that a big chunk of the opposition to Common Core — educational “standards” that Bill and Melinda Gates support — comes from “white suburban moms.” Hardly empowering or respectful toward mothers, is it, Mrs. Gates?
