After Michelle Obama’s shameless cameo during last night’s Oscar ceremony, many lefties were scrambling to make excuses for the stunt. Liberal film critic Richard Roeper was not among them. Falling out of lock-step, Roeper dared to question the White House-Hollywood industrial complex:

Interesting question.
@richardroeper Not a chance.

@richardroeper i think we all know the answer to that question.

@richardroeper Invite Ann Romney? No they would have invited Hillary to help kick off 2016 plans.

Intellectual honesty from a showbiz liberal? That’s a rarity, indeed, and one that conservatives can appreciate:
@richardroeper Thanks, Mr. Roeper, I was thinking the exact same thought.

@richardroeper I had the same thought. But then again I do not believe ent. as a whole should be so involved in politics in the first place.

Roeper wasn’t the only “card-carrying liberal” immune to the White House’s charms. Nikki Finke, founder and editor-in-chief of Deadline Hollywood, wasn’t into the love-fest, either:

We’re nothing if not realistic. And while we don’t expect the Hollywood-Obama lovefest to end anytime soon, it is refreshing, and somewhat encouraging, to see that at least a few libs in the entertainment industry are emerging from the haze.
