'GOT to be KIDDING'! Snopes, Facebook jumped one BIG-ASS shark with this Fake News 'fact check'

Some pretty dangerous fake news has been making the rounds lately, but don’t worry: Snopes is on it.

Snopes is doing God’s work here:

Oh … did we mention that the claim they’re checking is from the Babylon Bee?

Although it should have been obvious that the Babylon Bee piece was just a spoof of the ongoing political brouhaha over alleged news media “bias” and “fake news,” some readers missed that aspect of the article and interpreted it literally. But the site’s footer gives away the Babylon Bee’s nature by describing it as “Your Trusted Source For Christian News Satire,” and the site has been responsible for a number of other (usually religious-themed) spoofs that have been mistaken for real news articles.

Great use of your time, Snopes, debunking obvious satire from a satire site.

And not just that, but Facebook actually took the time to scold Babylon Bee founder Adam Ford:

Really.

Stellar job, Snopes! And way to stay on top of this stuff, Facebook!

Evidently not. And it looks like they’re projecting their own ignorance onto other people.

If anyone for a second genuinely took the Babylon Bee’s story seriously, they deserve to get punk’d. And Snopes deserves to get kicked around. Over and over and over again.

That’s not a bad idea, Snopes. Save yourself from further humiliation.

Ha!

There’s only one thing to do now:

Yes, please!
