State Senator Jamilah Nasheed, a Democrat from St. Louis, refused to stand during the Pledge of Allegiance in the state Capitol; she said her silent protest was intended to show solidarity with Kaepernick.

And really, how can anyone be ok with this? Football players … sorta annoying and disrespectful but sadly not all that surprising. But an elected state senator? She serves the will of the people, not the will of herself.

Shameful.

The pay she receives from her constituents aka the tax payers who may or may not appreciate her disrespecting the Pledge of Allegiance.
