Just leave the poor guy alone. Way to represent, Bode. #Olympics2014 #bodemiller
— Timothy Hoagland (@timhoagland) February 17, 2014
Ok news lady, leave Bode Miller ALONE! Dude just got a medal in his last Olympics and you gotta make him cry over the loss of his brother?
— Sumer Dahl (@LadyDahl87) February 17, 2014
Seriously @NBCOlympics leave Bode Miller alone. That was a total classless set of questions by your interviewer.

American Olympic skier Bode Miller won the bronze medal in the Super-G event at Sochi this weekend. It was an emotional moment for the veteran athlete, who has been grieving the loss of his younger brother, snowboarder Chelone, who died last year after an apparent seizure. Miller broke down in tears.

Thanks for all the support, today was one of the most emotional days of my life. I miss my brother.

Not content to leave well enough alone, reporters pressed Miller after his victory. And many viewers think one NBC interviewer, Christin Cooper, went too far.
NBC reporter repeatedly badgering a teary-eyed #Bode Miller about his dead brother was a media low for the #Olympics
— TimKarr (@TimKarr) February 17, 2014
Lot of public backlash about the propriety of @MillerBode interview. NBC apparently had no misgivings since it was taped hours before airing
— Ed Werder (@WerderEdESPN) February 17, 2014
The only thing worse than Kristen Cooper's interview with Bode Miller is the fact that NBC had hours to edit/remove it & chose not to do so.
— Allison Beebe (@CoachAllisonB) February 17, 2014
To the classless, heartless lady who just interviewed Bode Miller I say: "Did you do that for ratings? For your boss…?" #getanotherjob
— Melissa McDaniel (@melissamcd) February 17, 2014
That Bode Miller interview was uncomfortable as hell. There's journalism and there's being an insensitive asswipe. NBC was the later.
— Nick Shepkowski (@NickShepkowski) February 17, 2014
#nbcolympics you owe Bode Miller an apology. That was terrible. While you're at it why not kill some puppies.
— Conor (@conormcasey) February 17, 2014
No respect for Christin Cooper for badgering Bode Miller to a breakdown, and none for NBC for re-airing her schlocky roughness. #Sochi2014
— Will & Deni Media (@macfoto) February 17, 2014
@NBCSportsPR You've got your work cut out for you defending Christin Cooper's treatment of @MillerBode during that interview. #Shameful
— James Moore (@QuarkSpin) February 17, 2014
Journalists who still have a shred of decency were mortified.

Christin Cooper @ NBC Sports is the absolute worst. There was no journalism in that interview w/ Bode Miller, just badgering & scrounging.
— carina adly mackenzie (@cadlymack) February 17, 2014
Maybe the athletes should ice Christin Cooper out of further interviews since NBC can't seem to handle it? @NBCOlympics @USOlympic
— Devon Vorse (@TheRealDevonV) February 17, 2014
Can #NBCFail sink any lower?
Some announcers need to learn to just shut up. Leave Bode Miller alone and let him deal with things with his wife.
— Matt Borst (@borstmatt) February 17, 2014
Poor form @NBCOlympics. That "reporter" who just interviewed @MillerBode went too far. Leave it alone. Great run, Bode.
— Chris Petrone (@seaPetrone) February 17, 2014
.@NBCOlympics Really shameful Bode Miller post-race interview. Inconsiderate, disrespectful, exploiting personal pain for ratings.
— Jamie Kellner ? (@jbkellner) February 17, 2014
Thought questioning of obviously emotional Bode Miller way over the line. Who do you think he was pointing to? Let picture tell the story.
— Alan Robinson (@alanrobinson412) February 17, 2014
Search on twitter reveals that there are a lot of people pissed about the @MillerBode interview. Shame on you @NBCOlympics.
— Josh Bush (@digitalBush) February 17, 2014
Hey, here’s an idea:
Maybe if #NBC badgered Obama like they did Bode Miller we could actually get some real answers.
— S Hendricks (@SHendricks3) February 17, 2014

Update: Here’s some video of the interview, or rather, ambush.
Bode Miller gets emotional in post-race interview: There was a way to ask about Miller's mindset, this wasn't … http://t.co/epgv6FtTkO

Update: Bode Miller is a class act. He defends NBC interviewer Christin Cooper and asks his fans to be “gentle.” If only she had been as respectful to begin with, yes? Lesson learned, we hope.
My emotions were very raw, she asked the questions that every interviewer would have, pushing is part of it, she wasnt trying to cause pain.
— Bode Miller (@MillerBode) February 17, 2014
I appreciate everyone sticking up for me. Please be gentle w christin cooper, it was crazy emotional and not all her fault. #heatofthemoment
