Tim Samaras’ family confirmed the sad news.

Tim Samaras, his son Paul and his partner Carl Young died on Friday as a result of the deadly tornado that hit El Reno, Oklahoma.

The storm chaser sent out what was to be his last tweet on Friday:

Mr. Samaras appeared on the Discovery Channel series “Storm Chasers.”
