Comedian Dane Cook has apologized for a “shoot me” joke he made Thursday night at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles during a bit about “The Dark Knight Rises.”

The full statement reads:
I am devastated by the recent tragedy in Colorado & did not mean to make light of what happened. I made a bad judgment call with my material last night & regret making a joke at such a sensitive time. My heart goes out to all of the families & friends of the victims.
For a place called “The Laugh Factory,” the venue sure seems to be turning out some defective product lately.
What's worse than a Dane Cook joke? Dane Cook.

Wow Dane Cook. Colorado massacre jokes? Really? Way to solidify that you're no longer funny…

Too bad it took an absolutely tasteless and awful joke for people to finally realize that Dane Cook isn't funny.
