Lapdog media: CNN on jobs report; 'Republicans blame Obama for poor job numbers'

An abysmal jobs report was released today and an actual CNN headline read “Republicans blame Obama for job numbers.” CNN then also went on to join the White House in blaming President Bush. No, really.

The spin is staggering.

And distract. Distract like the wind! If you can’t totally get away with blaming  Bush any longer, blame icky old Republicans for being meany pants to poor Obama. You know, the man under whom the economy just keeps spiraling downward.

From the CNN article.

Republicans blame Obama for job numbers
(CNN) – Top Republicans were quick to fault the Obama administration for Friday’s job numbers, which showed a lower-than-expected addition of 69,000 jobs in May and a slight bump in the unemployment rate to 8.2% from 8.1% last month.

Because it is his fault, along with his fellow Democrats. Truth is hard, CNN. But nothing to see here, move along. It was only a “slight bump.”

It’s just fear mongering and such. Atrocious report? Don’t look behind the curtain! Just pretend everything is hunky-dory, silly fan flamers.

From the AP article:

The dismal jobs data will fan fears that the economy is sputtering. It also puts President Barack Obama on the defensive five months before his re-election bid.

Oh noes! Obama’s re-election bid is all that matters, natch.

Mitt Romney, Obama’s Republican challenger, who’s made the economy the heart of his campaign, seized on the report. He called it “devastating news” and said the tepid job numbers, along with slowing economic growth reported earlier this week, “stand as a harsh indictment of the president’s handling of the economy.”

What a meany pants he is, “seizing” on pesky facts and figures.

Many Americans picked a bad time to jump back into the labor force. The U.S. work force – those working and looking for work – expanded by 642,000 in May. It was the biggest increase since November 2007.

Your fault, Americans. How dare you need to look for work at a time that isn’t beneficial to President Obama and his re-election bid? Bad timing, rubes! Stop bitterly clinging to the idea of earning a paycheck!

Some Twitter users are predicting how the media will further cover this.

The absurd and transparent spin isn’t working, media. We can see November from the jobs report.
