Georgia’s Youngest Mayor Lasted 10 Months — Impeached Over City Funds and Explicit Chat With Student

Meme

Ten months ago, Jayden Williams made headlines as the youngest ever elected mayor in Georgia. That didn't last long. Womp-womp.

Georgia's youngest elected mayor was removed from office just 10 months after taking the job following allegations that he misused city funds and exchanged sexually suggestive messages and images with an 18-year-old high school student.

Jayden Williams, who recently turned 23, was impeached by the Stockbridge City Council in the city south of Atlanta after taking office in January.

That's unfortunate.

"The City of Stockbridge confirms that the City Council has taken formal action concerning the Office of Mayor," the city said in a statement on Sunday. "The Mayor has been removed from office."

Williams was accused of using his city purchasing card for more than $4,000 in personal expenses, including restaurant meals, clothing, haircuts and a movie, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. He reportedly spent $2,600 on gas and used a city vehicle for personal purposes.

Maybe maturity and having a fully formed frontal lobe does matter. Men don't get that frontal lobe issue resolved until they are about 25.

They gave a kid a chance and hopefully they won't do that again.

Same as it ever was.

He learned how to act like a politician quickly.

There is always a silver lining.

Maybe elected officials should prove they've held jobs in the past, had some success and a level of maturity. What a concept!

This is true for most people.

Apparently, it's an epidemic.

Excellent advice all around.
