Earlier, we told you about the devastating news of the passing of Dolly Parton.
Then, this news from the National Hurricane Center.
Aug 25 2pm EDT: NHC is monitoring 2 areas (#AL95 & #AL96) across the basin. The high-latitude low could become a short-lived tropical cyclone, while the tropical Atlantic system (#AL96) is likely to become a tropical depression during the next day or 2. https://t.co/GrztW6mQJV pic.twitter.com/BZ6KqtvJlt

It may seem those two things are not at all related. Unfortunately, they are.
Not a joke: Whichever system identified here becomes a tropical storm first, it will be named Tropical Storm ... Dolly https://t.co/gkmp49gfvl

This is not the time, Mother Nature.
The simulation is running out of ideas.

Clearly.
*checking Gulf Coast and East Coast states for any towns named Jolene*

That's a fair point.
She always had a sense of humor and great timing.

She absolutely did. Pure class and style.
In the history of no-brainers, making an executive decision to skip "Dolly" this year has got to be at the top of the list
— Joe Light (@joelight) August 25, 2026
In honor of Dolly, that would be best.
Bad idea. Her name shouldn’t be associated with anything destructive
— Sleepy P (@Sleepy___P) August 25, 2026
And Dolly would never.
Then it will never hurt us.

👍🏽❤️🌀
Can’t make this up. 🙂

Truth really is stranger than fiction.
It’ll be the first hurricane on record to cause widespread improvements

Then it shall be a kind and benevolent system, meaning no harm to all humans in its path.

Rest in eternal peace, Ms. Parton. 🕊️
Singing with the angels.
Well, if it does I'm sure it will be "flirting " with us all and singing along nicely and everyone will remember it...

And everything in its wake will be left better than it was found.

And of course, those with Trump Derangement Syndrome cannot comment on any topic without making it about Trump.

We didn’t appreciate her enough so she is coming back to destroy us https://t.co/UlUS8lsImd
— TMLA (@magicsincemac) August 25, 2026
Even though we never deserved her, she would never seek revenge on us.
And let it be as gentle as our country queen.

Seems a little divine. https://t.co/HnMi9El8om
God bless Dolly. She will surely be missed.
