At their core, conservatives are good people who want the government to leave us alone. We prefer to focus on our God, our Family and our communities. We love freedom, the right to defend ourselves and to worship how we please. We want to be free to educate our children as we see fit, choose our own Doctor and medical care and ultimately, desire the smallest government possible. We want our federal government to defend our borders, keep us broadly safe internationally and not much else. We are a generous people who donate to charity, but we don't want to be compelled to give our money by the government.
These are all very good things, but absolutely antithesis to what Democrats espouse. Democrats believe in big government, no God, that children belong to the state and citizens have no property or defense rights.
Here's the problem ... Democrats are ready to sling mud to get what they want. Republicans won't. Politics don't rule our lives in the same way, and this is why the Left is always ultimately victorious. Just like at the ICE raids of recent memory. They basically were able to put a stop to them by constantly harassing ICE agents. Deportations and pickups have slowed dramatically. Trump fired the guys who were aggressively deporting and now we have MarkWayne who wants to do things quietly and politely. The Left knows how to bully and win.
The only people actively winning on our side effectively and successfully are Chris Rufo and Ron DeSantis and those two in concert with one another. They don't care about playing nice and they understand the GOP isn't going to win a popularity contest with legacy media.
"Chris Rufo solved this social problem, but he did it by generating political action rather than asking the libs nicely" is the perfect summation of why much of the conservative movement—and almost all conservative academics—has been utterly ineffective for many decades. pic.twitter.com/SgwpUvQAha

No, there isn't a magical "middle position" that requires no courage but delivers results. There is no compromise with left-wing commissars whose key task is to administer a system of anti-white discrimination. It has to be destroyed.

If you don't accept the modern Left will never compromise, they will never moderate and they will never give an inch, you do not understand today's political landscape.
Sorry, but if you're a "conservative academic" that let DEI take over your private Christian university in Texas, you have morally forfeited the right to criticize those of us who then got rid of it for you. A simple "thanks" would be much more dignified approach.

To the extent there are conservative academics, and there aren't many, they don't speak out because they know it's career ending.
Elizabeth Corey, The Davenant Institute, most conservative academic institutions all are basically okay with some of the excesses of leftism as long as they get a little book club to talk about Hans Urs von Balthasar or whoever is hot at the moment. https://t.co/9McnoV3B77

Conservatives are going to have to leave their happy homesteads for a bit and get in the mud. We're going to have to get uncomfortable with our leaders being mean and playing hardball. Those of us in Florida have learned that lesson and we now have a huge conservative majority. People like winners. We need to be winners.
