Compassion Without Discernment: Why Women Are Falling for Leftist Propaganda Again

Twitchy

Yesterday, I talked about my frustration with women my age and demographic and their recent political takes. My Instagram and Facebook are full of people emoting, but not thinking. Today, I listened to this segment with Allie Beth Stuckey and it communicated everything I was trying to say.

Let me begin by saying, women are different than men. We are the nurturers and the caretakers. We keep the home fires burning. We are the tender place for our children to land. I don't want that to change. Children need mothers who love them unconditionally and are always willing to go to bat for them.

Our mistake is extending that attitude toward politics. When you venture into the political arena, women must remove our feeling caps and put on our thinking caps. Otherwise, bad actors seek to exploit our maternal urges. It's very easy to get caught up in this spiral of 'feeling' bad for people. Feeling bad for parents who lost a child whilst the (adult) child was making some very bad choices. We can feel empathy for their loss and pray for their comfort. That doesn't mean we have to overlook the risky behavior or try to place blame on innocents just because someone must pay. Sometimes, bad things happen when you flirt with danger. That's a risk many of these Leftist protestors seem willing to take.

Alex Pretti's parents claim they told him just two weeks ago to be very careful how he engaged at the Minnesota protests. People who have been parents know there was a reason Pretti's parents issued that warning. They feared he would not be careful. Very likely, they knew him well enough to know he didn't always make the most rational choices. They could almost predict how this would end.

I've taken part in many pro-life protests. My parents never warned me to 'be careful how I engage' because they know I don't take unnecessary risks. Pretti's parents knew their son and his proclivities.

As human beings, it is natural and kind and humane to feel for Pretti's parents. No matter what the ultimate investigation reveals, they lost a beloved son. That doesn't mean, however, the United States should just stop enforcing immigration law, or pull out of Minnesota, or offer amnesty to all the illegals. It simply means their son was armed while also being belligerent with law enforcement and that is a terrible combo. Any Second Amendment supporter would tell you that.

Christian women should absolutely pray for the Pretti and Good families. Pray they find peace and healing. We should pray there will be no more Pretti and Good families. Pray protestors will wake up to the notion of obeying the laws of the USA. Pray that people in this country illegally self-deport so all of this can stop. Pray for our leaders to be thoughtful, full of creative ideas and concerned with protecting American citizens. That's their job. It's possible to be a kind and loving Christian without gobbling up performative Leftist nonsense that demands we virtue signal on social media.
