As a Florida Native and lifelong resident (except that 1 year I went to college in Tennessee and was miserable) I can attest to the fact Florida is very real and it's glorious. Even before Governor DeSantis rose to Governor, it was great because of leaders like Grady Judd. Governor DeSantis has been the cherry on top.

The no nonsense approach to fighting crime keeps the place safe (just stay out of blue areas like Orlando. That area is run by Val Demings' husband and it's a mess). People also have a sense of humor so that makes things entertaining. They didn't create the 'Florida Man' meme out of thin air, after all. The heat probably also has something to do with it. You can't take anything too seriously because honestly, most of the time, you're just too hot to care.
