Though I Am Not Catholic, the Love of Christ Inspires Me to Honor and Respect All Who Believe

I'm not Catholic. I was reared Pentecostal. My Grandfather was a Pentecostal minister and both sides of my family are very Pentecostal. Pretty much everyone in my family is deep fried Pentecostal. I have deep respect for other religions. I grieve with the Catholic members of the Body of Christ as they mourn their Pope. That's why it is called the 'Body' after all. We are are all called to serve different functions. All those parts bring something meaningful and when any part is hurting, the whole Body should respond. What I've seen from many Christians today has been very disappointing to say the least.

I definitely had my objections to this Pope. This was one of my largest ones. His constant need to appease most Leftist causes was annoying. At the end of the day, he wasn't my religious leader. Those who practice Catholicism are the ones to raise their opposition to the proclamations of their Leader.

This is also gross and distasteful. Why can't humans give the deceased one day before the sick burns on social media begin? This is a site where we make fun of dumb takes on Twitter and even I find it too much. If you don't have anything nice to say, talk about something else. Why go out of your way to offend or hurt? That is the opposite of what Christ taught. If the Pope truly is as wicked as some people seem to believe, God is big enough to take care of that. He doesn't need people to be rude and nasty on planet Earth to help him out.

I probably mostly disagree with this tweep. I do agree with this take, however. People laughing and mocking the death of another human are showing less than Christlike behavior.

If you are a conservative who dislikes the Pope, please remember there were some things he agreed with us on.

The Church should only be devoted to Christ. Period. For Christians, we should only seek to serve God first, then our families, and after all of that, our political party. There is nothing wrong with being active in politics. If that involvement causes you to wish ill on your fellow brother or sister in Christ, it has gone too far. This is a good day to reflect and ensure we are living with hearts situated toward our Heavenly Father first and foremost.
