'If only there were a safer way': Oil train derails and burns in Illinois [pics]

A 100+ car train carrying crude oil has derailed in Illinois and at least two cars are on fire. Pictures show the massive plume of flame and smoke. If only there were some other way to move oil from one place to another.

The unicorns farting rainbows lobby has alternatives though.

@CuffyMeh @Matthops82 @KWWL

“In praise of folly.” Heh.

.@CuffyMeh @KWWL If only there were safer alternatives. Wind and solar, perhaps?

@LynnLMayer @CuffyMeh @KWWL Do you want your migratory birds chopped into pieces or burned to a crisp?

— John Blackout (@SomewhatSeattle) March 6, 2015

.@LynnLMayer @CuffyMeh @KWWL And the method has to, ya know, actually produce a meaningful amount of energy.

— Relentless (@shirazandsteel) March 6, 2015

.@LynnLMayer @CuffyMeh @KWWL And it has to be financially … wait for it… SUSTAINABLE.

— Relentless (@shirazandsteel) March 6, 2015

@CuffyMeh @BarackObama I'm sure that oil burns MUCH cleaner by train derailment as compared to as gasoline in cars.
