NFL nixes fans' protest of Phill Simms' refusal to say 'Redskins'

@DrewMTips Guess Simms is auditioning for the insufferable Bob Costas role for CBS.

Some Washington Redskins fans hung a banner to protest Phil Simms refusal to say the team’s name. Fans are probably more annoyed by Simms’ bandwagon jumping than by his sanctimony.

D.C. area residents STRONGLY agree, members of the sports media SHOULD use the Redskins name when covering the team. pic.twitter.com/vdWoPenBW0

Do people in the D.C. area find the word 'Redskins' offensive? Local ethnic groups had this to say in our survey… pic.twitter.com/GIYX40xAMH

How is Phil Simms coping with seeing the word "Redskins" in the end zone? He should do all a favor and stop calling this game. #TNF
