Reporters like Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerrero asked some tough questions of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after he banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling from the league. While reaction to the punishment was generally positive, some are pointing out that Sterling’s comeuppance was long overdue.
Donald Sterling has had this coming to him. For a long time. For things far worse than anything he said on that tape. This is a good day.

The hypocrisy is deep here, @NBA . Acting like you didn't know won't play in the real world

Silver says he's known Sterling for over 20 yrs but that he's never seen anything "first hand" that would indicate he holds those views.

@meredithdake Oh brother. What a crock

@garysteveneaton guess he missed the full page ads that ran after he lost in court @meredithdake

@meredithdake I'd imagine that'll be the party line for the rest of the league.

There was also criticism of the NAACP who, until recordings of Sterling’s racist comments came to light, had planned to give Sterling a second lifetime achievement award.
The NBA bans #racist Donald Sterling for life a few days after the #NAACP was planning to give him a lifetime achievement award.

The @NAACP is pretty awful in this #DonaldSterling you didn't take a real stand at all. You are a joke of a foundation.

If I was trying to get a job, and I was previously sued for racial discrimination, I wouldn't get that job. But @NAACP will give u an award!

What say you, NAACP?
#NAACP applauds @NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s decision to ban Donald Sterling from NBA for life http://t.co/1q6Sn45g86

We will be developing guidelines for our units to help them in their award selection process.

Can you say damage control? Too little, too late.
