Pics: Conn. National Guard comes to the rescue of stranded drivers

Nemo dropped more than three feet of snow on some parts of Connecticut and road travel is limited to emergency personnel as crews try to clear the roads.

The Connecticut National Guard worked throughout the night to rescue stranded motorists.

Hundreds of drivers in New York were also stranded as heavy snowfall buried their vehicles.

Maybe they were out of bread and milk? Can’t weather a snowstorm without it!

Many motorists abandoned their cars on the Long Island Expressway, while others were trapped for hours.

Even the plows are getting stuck in the snow.

The rescue effort is still underway in Suffolk County, N.Y.
