And you know the Chicago Teachers Union strike isn’t For the Children™ when some of the most vocal pledges of “solidarity” come from the Occupy Movement.

Occupiers across the country are crawling out of their tents (and their parents’ basements) to support Chicago teachers in their oh-so-righteous struggle for the children. If by “children,” you mean 30 percent raises. Right now, the average salary for a nine-month teaching position is $76,000, not including benefits.

Occupy Wall Street is planning a solidarity march in New York City’s Union Square.
