Todd Akin drops out ... of the GOP convention; still clinging to US Senate candidacy

Todd Akin appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” today, telling George Stehpanopoulos he will not attend the Republican National Convention.

In addition to asking Akin to steer clear of Tampa, the Republican National Committee chairman suggested he “step aside and let someone else run for that office.” Clearly that’s a wish he’s not quite ready to respect, but he did leave the door open.

Instead of placing the blame solely on the “liberal media,” Akin turned his attention to villainous “party bosses.”

Ed Morrissey points out that for Akin, “party bosses” evidently include Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and Michelle Malkin. But Akin did admit that Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are not part of the liberal media.

So there’s that. Sigh.
