Freedom to blog: Charges dropped in Brett Kimberlin case against blogger Aaron Walker

Fantastic news: the criminal charges against blogger Aaron Walker have been dropped.

So beat feet, Brett Kimberlin. You lose.

The court listed the reason for disposition as “nolle prosequi”, meaning the prosecutor was “unwilling to pursue” the peace order violation.

The gag order on Aaron has not been lifted yet:

But this is a major victory for free speech activists fighting against the use of the courts to silence the truth.

Michelle Malkin sums up today’s win:

A free speech win this morning…perfectly timed for the Right Online conference, where thousands of bloggers and activists (self included) are gathering to celebrate and defend our 1st amendment rights. Still a long fight ahead on many fronts, but this is terrific news
