The Federalist editor Mollie Hemingway strongly criticizes CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’ as antithetical to its very namesake.

There was NOTHING reliable or truthful about CNN’s Reliable Sources. Media criticism is vitally important, given the power of media to wage domestic and foreign conflicts and perpetrate information operations. Defending propaganda and lies, as RS routinely did, is wrong.

Freedom affords CNN the opportunity to choose its programming. The market allows viewers to decide if the programming offered by CNN is worthy of consumption. Whether or not the information being presented can be trusted is fundamental. A reordering will be inevitable if an outlet or show consistently mishandles the trust given it by consumers.
