Will they EVER learn? ESPN has to send out a stick to sports memo after host goes on Trump-bashing rant

In the wake of woke sports coverage becoming a huge liability for ESPN, they have recently instituted new policies encouraging their personalities to stick to sports.

Apparently, Florida-based radio host Dan Le Batard did not get the memo.

So ESPN sent out a reminder about the stick to sports policy (via AP):

“ESPN is making sure that its employees know there is not change in the network’s policy to avoid talking about politics unless it intersects with sports after radio talk show host Dan Le Batard criticized President Donald Trump and his recent racist comments and ESPN itself on the air this week.”

“The reminder went out Friday to all employees, including Le Batard, according to an ESPN employee who spoke on condition of anonymity Saturday because the person was not authorized to speak publicly about personnel matters.”

Le Batard has been critical of ESPN’s decision to remove politics from its sports coverage.

“We here at ESPN don’t have the stomach for the fight,” Le Batard said. “We don’t talk about what is happening unless there is some sort of weak, cowardly sports angle that we can run it through.”

It’s truly incredible that any ESPN employee would still attempt to assert his own political opinion at the risk of continuing the collapsing ratings and interest that has plagued the network over the past few years.
