After months of an investigation, House Intelligence Committee ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) can’t point to any definitive evidence when asked about whether the Trump campaign had any connections to Russia.

Asked to explain his comments earlier in the week when he said there was more than just “circumstantial evidence of collusion,” Schiff said, “I do think that it’s appropriate to say that it’s the kind of evidence that you would submit to a grand jury at the beginning of an investigation.“It’s not the kind of evidence that you take to a trial jury when you’re trying to prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. But we’re at the beginning of an investigation, and given the gravity of the subject matter, I think that the evidence certainly warrants us doing a thorough investigation.”

Additionally, after reviewing the information that House Intelligence Committee chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) saw last month, Schiff was also at a loss for words when asked about whether members of the Obama administration were improperly unmasking Americans who were caught by surveillance.

What exactly has Schiff been doing? As a reminder, Nunes has been labeled a partisan hack and asked to step down by several members of Congress. Will there be any similar demands when it comes to Rep. Schiff?
