Breaking news out of D.C. where we’re learning that Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for Covid:

From the VP’s office:
Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for COVID-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence. She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative.
But what’s funny right now is how CNN’s MJ Lee rephrased that third sentence, changing it from “She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules” to “She is not considered a close contact of President Biden” which sounds like the two aren’t on good terms:
Breaking: Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for Covid, White House says.
She is not considered a close contact of President Biden.

We will also point out that this means Vice President Harris won’t be on hand to break any ties:
Dems can’t tie break in the Senate this week even if they had all 50 senators able to vote https://t.co/nwosxJKd7V

And two other Dem Senators have also tested positive:
