Meanwhile, in New York City, the Covid panic has begun:

And it’s not just Cornell locking things down and the 1000 or so mild infections we told you about yesterday:
Cornell has reported over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases this week. Cornell's mRNA shot compliance rate is over 97%.
The "breakthrough" narrative in the United States, (promoted by Biden Admin, Govt Health, Pfizer, Moderna, NYT, etc) is officially dead and buried. pic.twitter.com/jWD1AqdqJF

Twitchy favorite and Brooklyn resident (for now, at least) Karol Markowicz reports that a number of NYC public schools are telling parents to prepare for remote learning in the near future:
Parents are forwarding me "be ready to go remote" emails from their schools. We have not received these from our kids' NYC public schools yet. pic.twitter.com/xgDVYWVCOw

These are schools in Manhattan and Staten Island:
I feel like I was unclear. These are both notes sent to parents of kids in public schools in NYC. One in Manhattan, one in Staten Island. I was just noting that we haven’t gotten same from either of our kids’ schools yet.

Karol reports her own kids in Brooklyn are back to eating lunch outside:
Both of my kids’ schools are back to eating lunch outside. My middle schooler is very happy about that as it’s preferable to the silent Iunches they have inside. Of course either way is pic.twitter.com/GhwcXs0dmU

It doesn’t have to be like this:
A friend in Florida posted a vid on FB of her middle schooler's unmasked concert. Group of kids just singing on a stage. And craziest part: there were no comments like "wow, look at all this normal." It's so normal it's not even worth mentioning! I couldn't take me eyes off it.

They're singing on a stage in Florida while my kids eat lunch on the ground in NYC and mask for outdoor recess. In December of 2021.
— Karol Markowicz (@karol) December 16, 2021
I know I'm getting my kids out. But I'm going to spend my remaining time here talking about how there's a better, saner, more normal way for children and my lord New Yorkers should take it.
