State law prevents the city from mandating vaccines for police. However, we know the majority of sworn staff were among the first to get vaccinated. At least 600 members were vaccinated through city clinics.

We do not know the exact total because there was no mandate, and therefore no tracking. We know many members who went to other places besides the city clinic.

And after admitting state law barred him from mandating vaccines for the cops, Mayor Ted Wheeler also admitted his “hands off” policy for riots last year was “not the right strategy”:
