Biden campaign official shares totally bogus Vanity Fair tweet claiming 'the Secret Service will have to drag [President Trump] from the White House'

The article cites zero sources (not even anonymous ones) to what’s referenced in the headline, but I guess “disinformation” is only a problem when it’s spread by Trump allies.

You should condemn “fake news” regardless of which side it tries to smear. https://t.co/k97lDUP8cM

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s ProPublica’s Dara Lind:

Am I missing something, or does nothing in the text of this post (the substance of which is aggregated from a CNN article) say anything close to this? https://t.co/T16FsXJ1ve

It’s worse than irresponsible:

You are correct, it was an irresponsible headline.

It’s a damn lie:

This is, of course, a lie. https://t.co/ccoeOy8Scy

One of the people sharing it is Biden campaign official Andrew Bates:

You see, if Dems spread fake news it’s OK.
