Attacker with a knife kills four police officers 'at police HQ in Paris'

Early reports (which we caution could change) say the attacker worked for the police:

UPDATE: The police union in France now says 4 officers have been killed in a knife attack committed by an employee at the headquarters in Paris.

At least four police officers have been killed in a knife attack at the Paris police headquarters near Notre Dame. The assailant has been shot dead. Some reports say he'd worked at the HQ.

The motive is unclear at this point, and we’re not saying that sarcastically:
