The New Republic gets dragged for hiring an 'Inequality Deputy Editor' who isn't an equal to other editors

One of the jobs is for “Inequality Deputy Editor” but for some reason, the totally liberal TNR is not treating the “Inequality” editor the same as all the other full-time employees:

So, it’s OK for liberal pubs to get around unions and health benefits and such? Good to know:

They are hiring a “Justice Writer” under the same work rules, which doesn’t seem to just to us:

This is a part-time role, requiring 29.5 hours per week, and does not include benefits.

And is anyone buying the whole “29.5 hours” schtick?
