Good news, journos! The New Republic is hiring:
TNR is hiring! We’re looking for passionate writers and editors to join the team in D.C. or New York. Check out our open positions here (cc: @WritersofColor): https://t.co/eWsZQlqnQ2

One of the jobs is for “Inequality Deputy Editor” but for some reason, the totally liberal TNR is not treating the “Inequality” editor the same as all the other full-time employees:
TNR is hiring a deputy “inequality editor” who works part time and is ineligible for healthcare https://t.co/A2lzAmNRLR

So, it’s OK for liberal pubs to get around unions and health benefits and such? Good to know:
So, The New Republic is hiring a part-time deputy Inequality Editor who will “raise hell” going into the 2020 election, edit between three and four stories per week, work 29.5 hours of a week, and is ineligible for healthcare. This is a bad idea. https://t.co/J7LsE0P4rZ

They are hiring a “Justice Writer” under the same work rules, which doesn’t seem to just to us:
This is a part-time role, requiring 29.5 hours per week, and does not include benefits.
And is anyone buying the whole “29.5 hours” schtick?
When the job title is way too apt: @newrepublic is hiring an “inequality deputy editor” who is “well sourced,” will “raise hell,” & edit 3-4 stories/week — and at 29.5 hours/week, the job is ineligible for benefits and will not be in the Guild (h/t @freeblackgirl) pic.twitter.com/2sxLJhhv8l

More anger at TNR:
“Equality in all its GUISES”? (emphasis mine)
Oh, that sneaky equality!

You can’t be “committed to diversity” and not offer full-time work with benefits. You just can’t.

Trust-fund babies, please apply:
Not to mention that they prefer candidates who live in the extremely affordable cities of New York or DC
