Better Midler keeps deleting tweets (her latest on wanting to “shiv” the president is now gone) which is why we suspect this one won’t be up long. Today is June 5, the D-Day landing happened on June 6:
Today is the 75th Anniversary of the invasion of Normandy. So much gratitude to those who fought and those who fell, and the extraordinary collaboration of the 12 Allied nations who against all odds, brought about success.

And she made a WWII analogy who thanked everyone for coming to her defense in her ongoing Twitter battle with the president:
I want to thank everyone who came to my defense last night during my personal Battle of the Bulge with he who must not be named. Your wit and good nature really lifted my spirits; as a newly washed up psycho, I am very grateful for your thoughts and prayers.

If you recall, this all started after Midler shared a bogus meme suggesting Trump, in the past, called Republicans stupid. Of course, blue-checks who routinely lecture on the dangers of fake news and how memes on social media can swing elections, stood up for Midler in the back-and-forth with Trump. Some examples:
The president is participating in an event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day in a few hours but, before that, he's tweeting attacks at Bette Midler in the early hours of the morning.

While we're on the topic of psycho….
…. Donald Trump's health & mental health records are still concealed. He had a squad of goons steal them from his doctors office and no one knows what's in them. https://t.co/b9xQJxKVMi

Yeah, this is the best way to honor what Eisenhower and the Allies did on that beach in France. https://t.co/EHSMIbgtHb

Now, just hours before the President is called upon to mark the 75th anniversary of one of the most heroic events in world history — D-Day — where so many gave their lives in the name of freedom, our President soulfully reflects on the significance of the day ahead. https://t.co/e1T4Eu3Jb0

Just a reminder that the President launched his political career by lying about his predecessor’s birthplace in an effort to undermine his presidency. https://t.co/2fdHPAJ7AX

Re-upping this from last night because wow https://t.co/ssCZkFOtUq

I love everyone pointing out that it’s 1:30 in the morning in London as though it would be normal for the president to fight with Bette Midler at, say, 4 in the afternoon.
