If you say it five times, something magical happens? From Women’s March founder Linda Sarsour:
Leave our bodies alone.
Leave our bodies alone.
Leave our bodies alone.
Leave our bodies alone.
Leave our bodies alone.— Linda Sarsour (@lsarsour) May 15, 2019
Lila Rose, founder and president of the pro-life group @LiveAction, tweeted back at her that “babies in the womb” are saying the same thing:
-Babies in the womb

And this triggered Sarsour into accidentally arguing against abortion:
What are you doing for the millions of children in the US who live in extreme poverty? Do they not have heartbeats too? What about the migrant children crying for their mothers in cages? WAKE UP. Show some consistency. https://t.co/STIyOD7G30
— Linda Sarsour (@lsarsour) May 15, 2019
Yes, “every heartbeat matters.” And note that Rose has been outspoken against the treatment of migrant kids at the border:
So you’re agreeing with me, Linda?Every child deserves to live and be loved? Every heartbeat matters? I passionately believe it. I’ve spoken out against the treatment of kids at the border—but for the babies in the womb, I have only seen you speak for the “right” to murder them.
— Lila Rose (@LilaGraceRose) May 15, 2019
You know, it’s not hard to argue for both things at the same time:
Strangely, I have found it possible to be in favor of combating poverty, treating migrants humanely, AND protecting unborn children from being murdered. https://t.co/ee53Rob46U

Of course, Sarsour’s employing the proverbial strawmen:
These are all strawmen. Not a single one of these questions is an argument for why abortion is ok.

More back-and-forth and Sarsour does not come away looking any better:
I do believe women have agency over our bodies—but our agency never equals a “right” to kill a life within us. When you say it’s a “painful and traumatic decision” – what do you mean? Why is abortion painful and traumatic, if it does no harm to a baby or a woman? https://t.co/v3qbea3QBH
