Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is defending saying “womp womp” last night in response to a Democratic activist relaying a story about a girl with Down syndrome who was separated from her mother at the border. According to Lewandowski, “womp womp” was mocking the activist, Zac Petkanas and had nothing to do with the little girl and anything to the contrary is “Fake News”:
Lots of Fake News today. I mocked a liberal who attempted to politicize children as opposed to discussing the real issue which is fixing a broken immigration system. It’s offenseive that the MSM doesn’t want to talk about the fact these policies were started under Obama.
