It appears we’ve all missed a major story out of Germany where Angela Merkel’s coalition government might be on the verge of collapse which could lead to her resignation:

In summary, migrants are registering in other EU countries and then travelling to Germany. Merkel’s opponents want the ability to say no to some of these migrants. Merkel wants to solve the issue with a Europe-wide solution:

And negotiations won’t be easy:
Compromise in CDU/CSU dispute won't come easily. For Merkel, turning migrants back at border could trigger disastrous wave of unilateralism within an already v divided EU. For CSU, doing so is the only way of showing that the government is serious about immigration. Nuance-able?
