Twitchy favorite J.R. Salzman has some questions for Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on just why his account was suspended when the people he interacted with were the ones saying the vile things.
THREAD ==>
Hi @jack and @TwitterSupport. I’d like to have a public conversation with you about the fact you suspended my account for the last 12 hours, and the bias and hypocrisy you demonstrated in doing so. I sent you an email, but I’m guessing you’ll ignore it like always.

I’m doing this publicly for a few reasons. First, I’m a big fan of openness and transparency. Second, to show from a users point of view how completely unfair and imbalanced the application of your rules has been. @TwitterSupport @jack

It all started with this tweet from a friend of mine. He posted screenshots where an individual sent him some nasty DMs, calling him a “fucking disgrace” and then blocked him before he could respond. @twittersupport @jack https://t.co/Spua6J1HwH

Apparently that wasn’t enough for the individual in question. Not only did he attack my friend and then block him before he could respond, but he did the exact same thing to his boss and the publication he works for. @TwitterSupport @jack https://t.co/wpv82jjgrZ

I saw both of these and I was left wondering, what kind of a person does this? I checked to see if I ever had any interaction with them. All I could find was one random tweet, yet for some reason the person had me blocked. @jack @TwitterSupport
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
So I went back to the original thread of my friend and responded with a tweet where I characterized the individual sending nasty messages as having thin skin. @jack @TwitterSupport https://t.co/Spua6J1HwH

So imagine my surprise this morning to find out my account had been suspended by the very individual who is sending nasty DMs to people, calling them a fucking disgrace before blocking them. It blew my mind just how hypocritical this is. @jack @TwitterSupport
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
It also blew my mind to see how Twitter responded to the entire thread. It’s right there what he said and did, but somehow me calling him thin skinned was considered targeted harassment. This is why people hate the platform and constantly scream about bias. @TwitterSupport @jack
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
The reality is, I regularly get horrible messages sent to me but I never even bother reporting them anymore. I literally get death threats and threats of physical violence and horrible things said to me, yet @Twittersupport never does anything. @jack pic.twitter.com/yRmt1gGAR0
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
Which begs the question, how is it that an individual who has a history of sending awful things to people in DMs able to get people suspended for things that don’t even a qualify as breaking the rules? @jack @TwitterSupport https://t.co/BOi5cgk6k1
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
Again, @Twittersupport and @Jack, there’s a clear pattern of this, yet somehow he got me suspended. Can you explain exactly how that works? How and why is your platform allowing this? These are legitimate questions that need answers. https://t.co/TDdr4K6OMT
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
Again, I posted all this publicly because I don’t expect a response via email. I like openness and transparency. I also think you need to see from the users perspective just how flawed and uneven your rule enforcement is. @jack @TwitterSupport
— J.R. Salzman (@jrsalzman) May 16, 2018
You need to see how some individuals are able to exploit your rules, and poison the environment for everyone. Twitter should be fun and enjoyable, not a cesspool of insults and hatred. Thanks for your time, I look forward to your reply. @TwitterSupport @jack

We doubt Twitter or Dorsey will respond, but if they do we’ll be sure to update this post.
