David Hogg targets new company for boycott over GOP #FLGov candidate @AdamPutnam's support of the NRA

Down in Florida, there’s some talk among liberals to #BoycottPublix, the giant Florida grocery store chain, over its financial support of GOP gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam because Putnam is supporter of the NRA:

A boycott which now extends to MSDHS student activist David Hogg who tweeted that he’ll now buy his chocolate chip muffins somewhere else:

That will show them!

Here’s the article that started all this boycott talk:

But Publix’s support isn’t that strange. Putnam and the company are neighbors:

Putnam, like Publix, is a product of Polk County. He hails from Bartow, just 20 minutes from Publix’s headquarters in Lakeland — which company officials say is a factor in their support for him.

“As the hometown candidate, Publix has had a long-standing relationship with Commissioner Putnam,” spokesman Brian West said. “We support pro-business candidates, and believe Commissioner Putnam will make a great governor.”

As for the boycott, good luck, everyone! But something tells us Floridians won’t be giving up on Publix anytime soon.
