It appears singer John Legend isn’t done getting schooled by conservatives just yet. Here he is responding — wrongly — to an NRA ad that asks him if he thinks former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell is a “danger to the nation and police”:
.@johnlegend do you consider veteran United States Navy SEAL, Purple Heart recipient and #NRA member @MarcusLuttrell "a danger to this nation and to the police"? pic.twitter.com/2yDzyUeBKi

According to Legend, yes he is:
You can show me all the individuals you want. I'm sure they are wonderful people. The NRA's agenda is to sell more guns and stop any meaningful gun safety measures. You are a danger to America. You are a danger to law enforcement. https://t.co/yIAbotNU8i

Sigh. And now for the schooling on just how wrong he is on what the NRA actually does, which includes many, many safety programs:

John is dead wrong. About the agenda, about the safety measures, and the NRAs effect.
And I’m pretty sure he believes he is right and he is trying to do good. The effect of propaganda. https://t.co/3LYEPVpBMK

But that isn't true John. The NRA supports many gun control measures and offers education and training for gun safety.
Guns are a tool used in self defense. They provide personal empowerment. But you have to feel confident and knowledgable. That's all the NRA does. They inform. https://t.co/Oun2UgfAcg

At least have the basic facts when debating this stuff:
You must not know the @NRA’s mission statement, given the following tweet. You are alienating and marginalizing people—especially people who may be fans or buyers of your music—with this statement. https://t.co/DgZA0sakqe

That's just not true John
I'm sure you're a wonderful person
But
The #NRA's agenda is to support the Constitution from ill-informed folks just like youYou are a danger to individual liberty https://t.co/yZDcJ33JNF

And his bit about law enforcement put in danger by NRA members is especially egregious:
This line about law enforcement is incredible. It's the kind of argument a police apologist constructs. If a cop fears the population they are policing they should not be a cop. The idea a less armed people would suddenly be less brutalized by roidal racist cops is delusional https://t.co/DBvwHFK5zu

Come to Philadelphia and ask cops who the danger is to them…They won’t answer “NRA members.” Further, why this stupid assertion the NRA cares about gun sales? Want to debate gun policy, fine. But just absurd to bring in “shadowy profiteering” bromides. https://t.co/5nNgm286ut
