No, Houston Astros' Josh Reddick didn't disrespect the flag with his patriotic Speedo

Congratulation to the Houston Astros and their 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox to advance to the next round in the Major League Baseball playoffs!

LOL. That’s outfielder Josh Redick in the American flag Speedo. From Yahoo Sports:

Their celebration after a 5-4 win at Fenway Park just came with an extra dose of the American flag and near nudity. That’s because outfielder Josh Reddick — who had the go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning — stripped down to his American flag Speedo and let his teammates shower him with champagne.

Now, before you get all whatboutistic on Reddick vs. the NFL kneelers, there’s nothing wrong with an American flag Speedo, except for, well, the Speedo part. From the American Legion:

Question:
Is it permissible to wear an item of clothing that looks like the United States flag?
Answer:
Unless an article of clothing is made from an actual United States flag, there is NO breach of flag etiquette whatsoever. People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes. There is nothing illegal about the wearing or use of these items.
