NYT wants an on-air apology from 'Fox & Friends' over al-Baghdadi segment

The New York Times has asked “Fox & Friends” for an on-air apology and a tweet over a segment that aired on Fox News on Saturday morning alleging that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was tipped off by a report in the New York Times.

In summary, the segment– which was based on this Fox News report by Catherine Herridge and Pamela K. Browne —  argued that reporting in the New York Times in the aftermath of a raid that captured the wife of high-ranking ISIS official Abu Sayyef tipped of al-Baghdadi, allowing him to avoid a U.S. airstrike. The New York Times, however, says the article “Fox & Friends” referenced was 3 weeks after the attack and was cleared by the Pentagon prior to publication:
