Did CNN stage this Muslim protest against terror in London?; UPDATE: @CNNPR denies staging

Editor’s note: Updated below.

A video is going around alleging that CNN’s Becky Anderson faked or staged a shot of Muslims in London protesting against terror Saturday’s terror attack.

First up, here’s the video of what appears to be Anderson staging the shot:

And here’s what appears to have aired, in part, with some of the signs in the background at the end of the segment:

My message to the #LondonBridge attackers: You are a handful of twisted fools hell-bent on taking lives https://t.co/0v17H67El1

So, did she stage all of this? We, and others, have questions:

Is @BeckyCNN really setting this up? If yes then an absolute disgrace @CNN https://t.co/ijkZY7ZEEq

This is strictly against everyone's policy. It is completely NOT NEWS. It is editorializing.

Over to you, CNN.

The protest, according to Katie Hopkins, aired on BBC as well:

Update. CNN PR has responded, via CNN’s Brian Stelter:

Far-right twitterers are misleading folks about this video. Bloggers saying CNN was caught "staging fake news" (1/2) https://t.co/lvz6xznj18

Police allowed demonstrators thru cordon "so they could show their signs" to media, @CNNPR says. CNN, BBC, AP "simply filmed them doing so."
