It's not over: Judge orders DOJ to preserve private emails of Peter Kadzik

Oh? Nothing to see here, right? Move along?

Or not:

From Politico:

A federal judge issued a rare order Tuesday requiring the Justice Department to secure emails that may be in the personal Gmail account of a top department official who’s about to depart his post with the change in administration.

U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan instructed Justice to preserve any emails that Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Peter Kadzik has in private accounts that could be responsive to Freedom of Information Act requests filed by the conservative group Judicial Watch.

If you recall, Kadzik is the guy who was “running” the Clinton email probe who also emailed Podesta about trying to get his son a job on the Clinton campaign:

And he gave Podesta a “heads up” with respect to potential questions at an oversight hearing:

Kadzik is currently under investigation by the DOJ’s inspector general over that “head up” email:

Earlier on Tuesday, the DOJ claimed in a court filing that the did not have any of these private emails, which seems to have angered the judge, resulting in his later ruling:

According to Politico, Kadzik is to leave the DOJ on Thursday.
