A 27-year-old German man with a knife killed one and injured “several others” in an attack on a train near Munich this morning. According to multiple news outlets, the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” before the attack:

According to officials, the attack may have been “politically motivated” but not details have been released.

Police have arrested a 27-year-old German man in connection to the attack, a police spokesman said, adding that a political motive could not be ruled out.
According to a witness quoted in The Telegraph, the “train driver intervened at one point, and tried to beat the man off with a fire extinguisher.”
